Generous square fire pit in S235 steel, made to order in our metal fabrication workshop. Quality you can feel: 230.8 kg of solid steel, 3 and 8 mm thick – a piece built to last decades.

Two steel options:

  • Raw S235: raw workshop finish, the appearance evolves freely over time.
  • S235 Corten: self-patinating steel, develops a stable and protective patina, with a warm, uniform hue.

Optional stand: each stand fits every fire pit. Stand models may vary depending on salvaged steel stock – photos are non-contractual. In case of stand stock depletion, the fire pit is offered alone.

Dimensions: top 89 × 89 cm, height 111.1 cm (stand mounted), 230.8 kg (fire pit alone).

Transport: ex-works price including VAT, excluding transport. Delivery cost depends on location and fuel: after your order, we will contact you within 3 to 5 business days for your order's assessment. Free pickup available at our Villiers-sur-Loir (41) depot.

Usage & Maintenance Conditions (workshop tips, no guarantee)

Accelerating the patina: the "Flash Rust" mixture. On new steel, the reaction is very satisfying to watch.

  • Mixture: 200 ml hydrogen peroxide + 2 tablespoons white vinegar + 1 teaspoon salt.
  • Application: use a plant mister, spray randomly for a natural look.
  • Timing: preferably on an overcast day or late in the day. If the sun is too strong, the mixture evaporates before reacting with the iron.

The first fire: "baking" the patina. This is the key step for a metalworker's fire pit: once your fire pit is well-orange (after 24 to 48 hours of exposure to open air), make your first real fire. The heat transforms the surface rust (orange iron oxide) into a more stable, darker layer. This thermal shock gives it that high-end industrial look.

Metalworker's maintenance. A raw steel piece is indestructible, but it evolves:

  • The base: the first rains will cause "rust juice" to run. Be careful with your patio slabs: place the piece on bricks or a sacrificial support initially.
  • The finish: for a dark "leather" look and to avoid marks on clothing, wipe the exterior with a cloth soaked in linseed oil when the metal is still slightly warm (not burning!).
